Claude vs ChatGPT: which AI assistant should a studio pay for?
One is calmer with a long brief. The other is the login everyone already has. Here is how to choose without buying both out of habit.

The short version
Pay for Claude if the work is long documents, careful tone and a first pass you will edit. Stay with ChatGPT if the whole company is already there and you need browsing, images and the path of least resistance.
Most studios keep both. The waste is paying for a third.
When Claude wins
A 40-page PDF, a messy research folder, a brand voice that cannot sound like a press release. Claude tends to stay with the brief. It is also the one we would hand a client transcript.
When ChatGPT wins
Everyday drafting, a team that will not adopt a second chat, and the extras — browsing, custom GPTs, the occasional image. It is infrastructure now, not a novelty.
A practical split
Use ChatGPT as the company default. Use Claude when the document matters. If you only have budget for one paid plan, pick the one your writers already open on a Monday.
